1/30-2/3
We had such a fun Spirit Week last week! I wish I would have taken more pics! We came soooooo close to winning 2nd place in the Rock, Paper, Scissors competition! Today we had a gaggle of Mr. Raneks, a couple Mrs. Redmonds, a Ms. Cataldo, a couple Mr. Schmidts, and a Ms. Loser! Last week, we reviewed place value and rounding to the nearest tens, hundreds, and thousands. We also began estimating sums of 3 digit numbers and we're continuing this week with estimating differences and mental math. I'm seeing that we need some work on regrouping, so I plan on adding that in this week, as well. We wrote friendly letters to our buddies today, properly addressed the envelopes, and they are stamped and ready to mail! We also learned about St. Josephine Bakhita, whose Feast Day is this Wednesday.
A reminder that now that we have chosen our figures for Living Museum, the kids will need to find 2 books with information. For some, this may need to be a trip to the public library.
